Kaiser Permanente Host Bike Building Activity in Pasadena, CA

Kaiser Permanente brought its sales team together for a Build-A-Bike® charity bike building activity in Pasadena, California. Fifteen team members traveled in from different parts of the state for a full day of training, conversation, and collaboration. After plenty of focused sessions earlier in the day, the group was more than ready to switch gears. The bike build offered a welcome break from slides, schedules, and sales talk. From the first set of instructions, the room filled with laughter and relaxed energy.

The Build-A-Bike® event brought together sales professionals who usually connect by phone, email, or video calls. Seeing each other in person added a different dynamic right away. The smaller group size made conversations easy and collaboration feel natural. People quickly settled into their teams and got to work. The atmosphere stayed relaxed, supportive, and upbeat from start to finish.

As the builds began, the energy picked up fast. Teams joked their way through instructions and compared progress along the way. Some participants focused closely on details, while others jumped in wherever help was needed. The mix kept things fun and moving smoothly. The activity struck a nice balance between teamwork and play. Everyone stayed engaged without the pressure of competition taking over the room.

Once the bikes were completed, the focus shifted to the impact. The finished bikes were donated to Foothill Family. Lindsey from the organization arrived on time and spoke with the group about the families they support. Her words helped connect the team’s efforts to the real difference they were making. That moment gave the activity added meaning and wrapped the experience together.

By the end of the event, the group felt connected, energized, and glad they stepped away from their usual routines. It was a simple, hands-on way to build relationships and give back at the same time.
