Capital One Builds Bikes & Teams At Team Building Activity in DC

After a full morning of meetings, the group was ready for something different. With eighteen participants, the goal was simple: move around, have fun, and not stare at another slide deck. That goal was definitely achieved, along with plenty of laughs and a surprising amount of competitive energy.

Capital One Leaders Jump Into Build-A-Bike® Charity Team Building Activity in Washington DC

The Build-A-Bike® event gave Capital One leaders a much-needed break from structured conversations and tight schedules. Once the bike kits hit the tables, the room instantly got louder. Teams joked their way through instructions and debated strategies like seasoned pros. For a group that spends most days in meetings, everyone leaned into the hands-on challenge quickly. The competitive side showed up fast, but it stayed friendly and fun.

As the builds continued, the energy never dipped. Laughter echoed around the room as teams worked through each step. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington joined on short notice and arrived early, ready to help. Their team jumped right in, answered questions, and kept things moving. Seeing the bikes come together added motivation and momentum.

By the end of the event, finished bikes lined the room and the group looked genuinely refreshed. The experience offered a great reset before heading back into the offsite agenda. It balanced teamwork, humor, and generosity without taking itself too seriously. Everyone left in a better mood than when they walked in, which is always a win.

Thank you to Capital One for supporting local youth through this Build-A-Bike® event. We also thank the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington for their flexibility and hands-on support.
