Character Biosciences Charity Team Building Activity in Brisbane

Character Biosciences Charity Team Building Activity in BrisbaneCharacter Biosciences hosted a corporate charity team building activity in Brisbane, CA at their headquarters. Forty team members gathered during an annual meeting centered on innovation and collaboration. The group included employees from both coasts along with remote team members, many of whom do not often meet in person. After a full retreat focused on planning and big-picture thinking, the team added a hands-on activity to wrap things up. The bike build brought a fresh burst of energy while giving everyone a chance to connect in a different way.

Character Biosciences Team Connects During Corporate Charity Team Building Activity in Brisbane, California

After a schedule packed with strategy sessions and brainstorming, the shift to a Build-A-Bike® event changed the pace right away. Teams formed quickly and got to work solving challenges to earn the parts they needed. The group brought the same attention to detail they use in their work, but this time it came with a lot more laughter and back-and-forth. Conversations picked up fast as teammates compared ideas and figured out the most efficient way to get their bikes built.

The activity stayed light and interactive from start to finish. Some teams jumped ahead early, while others regrouped and adjusted their approach along the way. There were quick huddles, a few trial-and-error moments, and plenty of commentary as the builds came together. As each bike took shape, the room kept a steady buzz of activity with everyone fully involved.

Once the bikes were finished, the focus shifted to the donation. The completed bikes went to Live in Peace, a local youth program based in East Palo Alto. The organization runs a bike shop that supports at-risk youth through hands-on programs. Tito Alvarez, the Youth Director, helped coordinate the donation and continues his work through Chase Love, including outreach efforts for the unhoused across Northern California. Seeing where the bikes were headed added a practical and local connection to the event.

We give a big thank you to Character Biosciences for supporting youth in their community. We also appreciate Live in Peace and Chase Love for their continued dedication and partnership.
