Abbott employees unite for Build-A-Bike® event in Pleasanton, California
On the second day of Abbott’s global marketing summit, participants were invited to take part in the Build-A-Bike® charity event. The day began with networking challenges that helped break the ice. They were essential for energizing the group after a long day of presentations. As the activity progressed, the team transitioned from competitive to collaborative challenges, working together to build eight bikes that would later be donated to children in need.
The event culminated with a visit from representatives of the YMCA of the East Bay. They shared how the bikes would directly benefit children on scholarship in the Pleasanton and Livermore areas. This heartfelt presentation underscored the significance of the team’s efforts, adding a deeper layer of meaning to the day’s activities. The participants were not only proud of their teamwork but also touched by the impact their contribution would have on local families.
Abbott’s Build-A-Bike® event was a resounding success, blending fun, teamwork, and philanthropy. The collaborative nature of the challenges helped colleagues from different regions bond, while the donation to the YMCA of the East Bay reinforced Abbott’s commitment to supporting communities in need.
We extend our gratitude to Abbott for their generosity and the YMCA of the East Bay for their continued work with local children.
