Mastercard hosted a charity bike build team activity in Miami, FL on February 11th. Sixty employees gathered at the Mastercard Miami office to kick off a two-day meeting. The group included remote team members from across Latin America, many of whom were meeting in person for the first time. Instead of easing into the agenda, the company opened with a hands-on activity that got everyone involved right away. The session set a lively tone and gave the group a chance to connect before diving into business discussions.

Mastercard Team Kicks Off Meeting with Charity Bike Build Team Activity in Miami, Florida
The kickoff didn’t take long to ramp up. Teams formed quickly, mixing employees from different regions and roles, and jumped straight into the Build-A-Bike® challenge. Since many participants had only worked together virtually, the shift to in-person collaboration made things interesting in a good way. Conversations started fast, ideas bounced around the room, and teams figured out how to work together on the fly.
The challenge kept everyone moving. Groups worked through clues to earn parts, with some teams charging ahead while others paused to double-check their approach. There were plenty of quick strategy huddles, a few last-minute fixes, and more than a little friendly rivalry. As the bikes started coming together, the energy stayed high and the room filled with chatter and laughter.
By the end of the session, the completed bikes were lined up and ready for donation to the Boys & Girls Club of South Beach. Their team was on time, easy to coordinate with, and helped wrap up the event smoothly. The activity gave the group a shared win right at the start of their meeting and a solid way to connect beyond their usual virtual interactions.
We give a big thank you to Mastercard for supporting children in their community. We also appreciate the Boys & Girls Club of South Beach for their continued impact.
