FedEx Team Build Bikes in Memphis at 3-Day Company Meeting

FedEx Team Build Bikes in Memphis at 3-Day Company MeetingOn September 1, 2026, 145 employees from Federal Express Corporation gathered on their Memphis, Tennessee campus to build bikes for charity! Working together in competitive teams, participants earned bike parts and assembly clues before ultimately building 18 brand-new bicycles, which were donated to children in the Memphis community through the School Seed Foundation.

Federal Express Corporation is one of the world’s largest logistics and delivery companies, operating the world’s largest cargo airline fleet and serving customers in over 220 countries. FedEx’s “FedEx Cares” program reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the communities where its employees live and work.

How a Memory from Eight Years Ago Led FedEx to Build Bikes in Memphis Earlier This Month!

This event brought together multiple companies within FedEx for a three-day meeting, some attendees were local to Memphis while others flew in from across the country. Looking for a way to give back to the Memphis community as part of the FedEx Cares program, a higher-up within the organization championed the Build-A-Bike® activity based on a memorable experience they had with it eight years ago at a different company. That enthusiasm carried over directly into the event itself.

From the moment teams formed, the competitive spirit was on full display. Participants were eager to earn bike parts and race through the challenges, all while laughing, strategizing, and bonding with colleagues they may not work alongside every day. Build-A-Bike® turned out to be the perfect way to energize the group and kick off what would be a productive multi-day meeting.

The day wrapped up with an unexpected twist, a fire alarm sounded just as the group was preparing for their group photo, sending everyone outside. The team rolled with it and captured their photo in the open air, bikes in hand, before donating all 18 to local children through the School Seed Foundation. Charity contact Vince McCaskill was on hand to receive the bikes and celebrate the moment with the FedEx team.

Thank you to Leigh and the FedEx team for choosing Build-A-Bike® and for making this event such a standout start to their three-day gathering.
