These fresh-faced Deloitte recruits had just survived a multi-day bootcamp preparing them for positions across 90 cities nationwide. Rather than celebrating with the typical happy hour, they rolled up their sleeves to build bicycles for kids who’ve never known the luxury of owning one.
The 107-acre Deloitte campus became an unlikely bicycle workshop as these accounting and consulting stars-in-training tackled puzzles, won parts, and discovered that sometimes the most complex equations aren’t found in spreadsheets but in connecting handlebars to bike frames. Between moments of mechanical triumph and occasional bewilderment, these professionals built something more lasting than bicycles—they built their first connections as a team.
