BDO brought its leadership team together for a charity bike build team building event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Held during the BDO USA Alliance Conference at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, the activity gave 28 leaders a chance to step away from meetings and connect in a different way. The group spent several days collaborating and sharing ideas throughout the conference, and the bike-building challenge offered a hands-on opportunity to strengthen those relationships. By the end of the event, the team had assembled four bicycles that were donated to children through A Greater Hope.

BDO Leadership Team Strengthens Connections During Charity Bike Build Event in Las Vegas, Nevada
With leaders representing different departments and areas of the business, one of the main goals was getting people out of their usual circles. The Build-A-Bike® helped make that happen naturally. Instead of talking about collaboration in a meeting room, participants had the chance to practice it in real time. Teams worked through a series of challenges and riddles that required communication and cooperation. As the competition heated up and everyone earned their bike parts, conversations started flowing between peers who might not normally work together. The atmosphere stayed relaxed and upbeat, making it easy for people to build new connections while having a little fun along the way.
The bike-building portion added an extra layer of purpose to the experience. Each completed bicycle was donated to A Greater Hope, a nonprofit that serves children and families involved in foster care. As teams focused on finishing their bikes, the activity became less about winning and more about helping one another succeed. By the end of the event, four bicycles were ready for donation, creating a meaningful impact for local children. The combination of teamwork, friendly competition, and giving back left the group with a shared accomplishment that extended well beyond the conference itself.
