Siemens Healthineers hosted a bicycle building charity team activity in Orlando, FL, bringing 50 team members together at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando Downtown. The group included engineers and scientists from the imaging division, with participants traveling in from multiple countries. Instead of another typical meeting session, the team stepped into something more interactive. The setup gave everyone a chance to connect while working toward a shared outcome that extended beyond the room.

Siemens Healthineers Team Connects Through Build-A-Bike® Charity Team Building Activity in Orlando, Florida
The shift from technical discussions to hands-on activity was instantaneous. Teams formed across roles and regions, mixing people who rarely get the chance to collaborate in person. Once the Build-A-Bike® started, the room was invigorated with movement as groups worked through tasks to unlock the parts they needed. Some teams approached it like a structured problem, while others jumped in and figured things out as they went.
The dynamic stayed loose and interactive. Conversations bounced between work topics and quick problem-solving, with plenty of back-and-forth as teams adjusted their approach. A few groups found their rhythm early, while others picked up speed halfway through. Either way, everyone stayed engaged, and the builds started coming together one piece at a time.
When the final bikes were complete, the group shifted focus to the donation. The bicycles went to the Children’s Home Society of Florida, and a representative shared how the bikes would be used to support local children. That added a clear connection between the activity and its outcome. Seeing the finished bikes lined up made the result easy to measure and gave the group a solid way to wrap up the session.
We thank Siemens Healthineers for their generous donation and enthusiastic participation. We also thank the Children’s Home Society of Florida for their continued dedication to supporting children and families.
